Mind Bogglers 2011
ABOUT US AND WHAT WE DID!
MIND BOGGLERS, a SSR projected started with an initiative to find the best mind in
Amrita School of Engineering, turned
out be as one of the best Student social
responsibility projects held at the
campus. The event was conducted in 4
phases
A preliminary round which was an aptitude
test to filter out the best 34 from the
100+ students who participated in it.
The aptitude test was held on 15th
September 2011 and 34 students were
selected in turn based on the performance
they put up in the aptitude test
The second round was a verbal round, named
Spell- Bee in which the 34 selected participants were grouped into 17 teams
such that each team consisted of 2 people. One team member from each team was
made to come over to the dais, where he was given a word and 2 other supporting
words. He/she was required make his/her team member understand the word within
the alloted time without using the main word or
the 2 supporting words. Like wise the other team member was made to do
the same when his turn came up. The
participants were tested on the basis of their communication skills ,expression
and their attitude towards the competition. The top 15 were selected into the 3rd
round.
The 3rd round saw the
participants in a Group discussion , in which they were made to discuss about
'The Recent Decline in the Standard of Malayalam films'. The discussion
continued on for an hour ,giving every participant an equal portion of time for
expressing his/her views. The Judges were made to select 5 best participants from the lot ,which we
could proudly announce as the Finalists
of MIND BOGGLER 2011.

These students were elected to participate
for the title of MIND BOGGLER 2011.
The final round was conducted in two phases.
In the first phase the participants were allowed to market a product of their
own interest , and then each of the participants were given a common topic to
market upon. Each of them were evaluated on the basis of their confidence about
the topic, their interaction with the
audience and the relevancy of their products.
The second and the last phase of the final round as well as the final
phase of the MIND BOGGLERS made the participants face certain stress intended
questions which were put to test their ability to manage a given situation.
Almost all the participants managed the situation in a commendable and professional
manner which made the verdict of MIND BOGGLER 2011 even more difficult.
At the end of the day , it was Parvathy
Soman who emerged as the winner of MIND BOGGLER 2011 and Harikrishnan A as the
runner up.

We , the coordinators of MIND BOGGLERS take
this opportunity to thank each and every one of our friends who helped us in
making this event a grand success, Aji sir for being a constant support for us
for guiding us through , Biju Ji for always lending an helping hand where we
needed It the most, and Last but not the least to Harikrishnan .C.U of S5CSE-A
who gave us the idea of launching MIND BOGGLERS as our Student Social
Responsibility Project.
